Working safety in a confined space
Training
Every Ace support team member is trained in confined space entry, supervision and attendance. These standards include training in First Aid. Ace support has invested in, and has necessary equipment to perform confined space rescue for its own personnel if local resources are not available. That equipment includes personnel, fall arrest systems (PFAS’s), safety harness, backup rescue winch, Emergency retrieval system on a tripod, tag lines, rescue ropes and devices.
Planning
Ace support teams prepare to face challenges found working in confined spaces. During the work Ace Supports identifies confined space safety and rescue plan in coordination with the client.
Confined space entry procedures.
As entering inside the tank is hazardous Ace support will ensure that the workers do not enter inside the tank until forced air ventilation is directed to ventilate the areas with air blower. Air blower will be used until the completion of the work.
Work Practice Controls.
Ace support safety supervisor will always be present during the duration of work to ensure the safety of the workers working inside the tank.
